We fund long-term, sustainable research to find a cure for brain tumours

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our page. We are so proud and honoured to be running the London Marathon on behalf of Brain Tumour Research with whom we have a very close and personal relationship.

Long story short: 37 years old, 2 beautiful daughters, a wife & a dog… I was diagnosed with a brain tumour nearly 3 years ago but with the love and support of my incredible family and friends, we’re kicking it’s 🍑! Since I started this new journey I’ve been on a mission to raise awareness and funding for research into brain tumours. And so onto the marathon…

I can’t lay any claim to instigating this ridiculous idea of running the London Marathon - I hate running! But when one of my brother in laws, Niro, said he wanted to run the London Marathon before he turned 21 again (ahem 😜!), I thought I can’t leave him to do it on his own, so I roped in my other brother in law, Ahi, to join! And so one man’s dream became 3 men’s reality!

All joking aside, it is truly humbling to be able to do this as one family, with my brothers… Sole Brothers. We have done quiz nights, a 24 hour football match but on a personal level this is by far the biggest challenge yet. I really do hate running - I really do hate my brain tumour… so there is no greater motivation for me than to overcome one challenge while battling the other.

I don’t know what happens to our long distance running careers after this race is over, but one thing is guaranteed, we’re not going to stop in this fight against brain tumours 🙏🏾

Thank you for your love and support ❤️

Sam, Niro & Ahi x

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
